Law Minister Tamang resigns

Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, Sher Bahadur Tamang has stepped down from his post following his controversial remark on Tuesday. Minister Tamang was drawn into controversy following his statement that female students who go to pursue MBBS in Bangladesh have to compromise at some point to earn their degrees.

India to shut down camp office at Biratnagar on August 1

The Government of India has decided to close the India Camp Office, Biratnagar from August 1, 2018. All services including issuing of motor vehicle permits, registration certificates for Indian nationals, attestation of documents and miscellaneous services (birth/death registrations) being rendered by Embassy of India Camp Office, Biratnagar will cease with effect from 1st August, 2018.

Hundreds missing after flash floods hit villages in Laos

Hundreds of people are missing and an unknown number dead after a dam collapsed in south-east Laos. The collapse at the hydroelectric dam in Attapu province late on Monday sent flash floods through six villages. More than 6,600 people have been made homeless by the floods.
