KATHMANDU, Sept 28: A total of 46 routes connecting the Kathmandu Valley to other districts have been closed due to recent landslides.
The Prithvi Highway, along with other routes linking the capital, have been closed since Saturday morning due to landslides at various locations, according to the Department of Roads.

Traffic has been halted on the Kathmandu-Mugling-Narayanghat route throughout Saturday and is not expected to open during the night.
The BP Highway, which connects eastern Nepal to Kathmandu, is also blocked, the department added. Additionally, all roads connecting Hetauda to Kathmandu have been closed. Landslides have caused the closure of all long and short routes between Hetauda and Kathmandu.
The Kanti Lokpath, the Rajdhani Marga (Bhimfedi-Kulekhani-Sisneari-Southkalai-Kathmandu), Kulekhani-Fakhel-Kathmandu, Kulekhani-Matatirth-Kathmandu, and Tribhuvan Highway all of which connect Kathmandu with Hetauda have been blocked by landslides triggered by rainfall since Thursday.
Meanwhile, the Department of Roads has reported that the Araniko Highway is also blocked. Various sections of the Kathmandu-Dhulikhel-Dolalghat-Khadichaur-Kodari road are obstructed as well.
