KATHMANDU, July 20: Former Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has urged the government to immediately hold talks with Dr Govinda KC and save his life by fulfilling his demands.

Deub made an appeal to the government to this end after he visited agitating Dr Govinda KC at TU Teaching Hospital on Friday afternoon.

“His condition is critical. Though he wanted to say something to me, he couldn’t. Every individual is powerful in democracy. There are millions of supporters behind him. The government should hold talks with Dr KC immediately and address his demands,” Deuba posted his status after visiting KC.

Senior Orthopedic Surgeon Professor Dr KC has been on a fast-unto-death for the last 21 days demanding reforms in medical sector. KC was staging indefinite strike in Jumla this time.

He was brought to Kathmandu by force yesterday and now is giving continuity to his strike at TU Teaching Hospital.

This is his 15th hunger strike.
