The District Police Office, Mahottarai, said that local Rakesh Mishra was held for his alleged involvement in the murder of Purna Singh Pradhan, an overseer of District Development Committee.
Police Inspector Suraj Khadka said Mishra who was absconding after the murder case was arrested based on tip off.
Police claimed that Pradham was shot dead five years ago by a gang of four people including Mishra while the former was deployed at Bathanaha for the survey of road construction.
Police said one person involved in the incident is still absconding while two others are in police custody.
