KATHMANDU, July 7: Temperature in the Kathmandu Valley witnessed a sudden rise due to occurrence of less rains in the past three days.

The latest temperature details unveiled by the Meteorological Forecasting Division put today's Kathmandu Valley's maximum temperature at 31.4 degree Celsius while the minimum temperature was measured at 20.8 degree Celsius. This system is known as 'monsoon break' and 'monsoon active' in meteorology.

In the recent years, however, some changes have been seen in the 'rainfall variability' due to climate change effects.

The division had announced the expansion of monsoon that entered Nepal on June 8, and became nationwide on June 28.

Tentatively, monsoon remains in Nepal till September 23 and a period from June 10 to September 23 is described as monsoon in Nepal.

The Kathmandu Valley is likely to see rains this evening.

Today's maximum temperature in Dipayal Silgadhi reached 37 degree Celsius, it was 36 degree in Nepalgunj and 35.9 degree in Dhangadhi.

The division has predicated cloudy skies and rains for the next three days across the nation while heavy rain has been forecast in some areas. RSS
