GORKHA, Aug 25: The Gorkha Chamber of Commerce and Industry has enforced shutdown of Gorkha Bazaar since early this morning in protest of the detention of entrepreneurs for the past three days.
The integrated market monitoring mechanism on Tuesday had arrested Anita Agro-vet Proprietor Ram Sharan Koirala, Anu Shrestha of Bishal Grocery Store and Iswor Shrestha of Shrestha Grocery Stores for selling the government-subsidized chemical fertilizers for profit motives.
Assistant Chief District Officer Netra Prasad Sharma shared that the market shutdown was enforced to pressure to release the entrepreneurs from jail and protest the monitoring for without informing the concerned traders.
Despite shutdown of the market, the vehicles are smoothly operating on the road here. RSS
