'Beijing Education Fair' in Kathmandu

KATHMANDU, June 24: In a bid to share information about Chinese universities to the Nepali students and provide quality education, 'Beijing Education Fair' has been organized in Kathmandu. 

The event was organized by Beijing International Education Exchange Centre where representatives from nine different Chinese universities and two educational institutions shared information on different aspects of Chinese education. 

During the fair, the students were familiarized about agriculture, tourism, hydropower, arts and literature, culture, film studies and other subjects' curriculum. The representatives from the Chinese universities and academic institutions also informed the Nepali students about the possibilities of Chinese educational scholarships based on the students' performance and their area of interests. 

Secretary at the Ministry of Education Khagaraj Baral marked the beginning of the programme and said that such fair would help disseminate information to the students to acquire higher education in the areas of their interests. He also suggested that such exhibition should be organized in other cities of the country to further strengthen the century old Nepal-China friendly relations. 

Likewise, Deputy Director of Education Committee of CPC Beijing Committee Yu Hai said that the number of students visiting China for study has increased from different countries and the exhibition was organized to provide opportunities for higher education in China for Nepali students for being Nepal a good neighbor of China.

Other speakers said that impacts of Chinese language and culture has gone up due to China's prosperity, adding that China was planning to provide more assistance to the countries included in the BRI. RSS
