KATHMANDU, June 23: As much as 24 metric tons of waste has been collected from different places of the Kathmandu Valley today.
Under the 267th week of Bagmati Cleaning Mega Campaign, four metric tons of waste was collected from around Mahadev temple of Koteshwor today.
The campaign was joined by 350 people representing High Powered Bagmati Civilization Integrated Development Committee, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Muktinath Development Bank, and 18 organizations as Nyano Sparsha and Thakuri society, said a campaigner Kishor Singh Sahi.
During the campaign, Blue Cross Hospital has been mobilized a team of health workers along with ambulance. Interestingly, those having birthday today are marking the day by involving in the cleaning up campaign.
It was also joined by Minister for Urban Development Mohamad Istiyak Rain, Ministry secretary Dipendranath Sharma, Chairman of Bagmati Development Committee Narendra Raj Basnet and project chief Ashish Ghimire. Minister Rai said the government was together with the campaign.
The cleanup campaign was marked at Narayantar Bagamati bridge area, Makalbari area, and Aloknagar area.
In the Makalbari area, more than 750 campaigners, including school students, involved in collecting waste.
Various mother groups also joined the drive. According to campaigner Uttam Pudasaini, even the awareness campaign would be conducted and those throwing waste on river bank would be brought to book.
In Gothatar bridge area, Japanese School Association Nepal involved in gardening the Sakuara park. More than 200 people joined hand for it from Bagami Beauty Concern Forum, Pudashaini Friendship Society, Ramro Jorpati Hamro Jorpati, and the locals.
Similarly, under the 22nd week of Rudramati clean-up campaign, the sanitation was conducted in the area from Ratopul, Kalopul and Gyaneshwor.
Tokha Municipality-13 also witnessed the sanitation under the 194th week of the Bishnumati cleaning campaign. More than 250 people took part in it. RSS
