44 died of COVID-19 on Wednesday

Nepal records 2,482 new cases and 1781 recoveries

KATHMANDU, August 15: As many as 44 people succumbed to COVID-19 on Wednesday, according to the Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP).

With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached 10,612. 

Similarly, the health ministry recorded 2,482 new cases of COVID-19 alongwith 1,781 recoveries. 

According to the MoHP, 9,711 PCR and 5,579 antigen tests were conducted today. Of them, 1,862 PCR and 620 antigen tests turned out positive for the deadly virus.

There are currently 3,8287 active cases of COVID-19 across the country. Of them, 35,250 are in home isolation, 3037 in institutional isolation, 610 in ICUs and 161 on ventilators. 

Likewise, as many as 65,066 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on the same day. 

Also, the Kathmandu Valley recorded 745 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday. Of them, 515 were detected in Kathmandu, 142 in Bhaktapur and 88 in Lalitpur. There are currently 10,495 active cases of COVID-19 in the valley alone.
