Teacher, cop arrested for kidnapping, killing 12-yr-old

RAUTAHAT, June 15: A policeman and a teacher have been taken into custody for investigation into the kidnapping of 12 years old Yuvraj Shah of Katahariya Municipality-9, on Sunday.

Hosh Narayan Yadav, a police constable stationed at Bara who is also the brother of ward chairperson of ward 9 has been arrested. He was arrested after family of the victim registered a case against him after he returned to his duty a day after the kidnap took place at late noon.

According to Om Prakash Shah, the victim’s uncle, the ward chairperson and his brother bought five quintals of rice and a quintal of pulse from him on the day of the kidnap to celebrate the success of the kidnapping. Shah added that the celebration took place according to the culture of carrying out the last rites and celebrating when one is killed in a Yadav’s house.

Similarly,  Krishna Yadav, a teacher at Barjawa Secondary School of Brindavan Municipality was also taken into custody following a statement of the prime suspect Ward Chairperson Shakti Yadav that the weapon used for the kidnapping belonged to the teacher. Yadav was arrested earlier.

According to spokesperson for the District Police, Deputy Superintendent of Police, (DSP) investigation against the teacher has already started and the police personnel has been asked to be sent to Rautahat for further investigation.
