Rural municipality cracks down on schools violating set standards

NEPANGUNJ, June 2 : Authorities have taken action against two private schools in Duduwa rural municipality of Banke for operating against set standards. 

The classes run without licenses by the Rapti English Boarding School of Betahani area and Academy English Medium Boarding School have been terminated. 

The Village Education Committee meeting held on Friday took the decision to enforce the closure of Grade 3, 4 and 5 of Rapti Boarding School and Grade 2, 3, 4 and 5 of Academy School. 

Committee and the rural municipality's Chairman, Narendra Kumar Chaudhary, said explanations were sought from the schools before action was taken. There are a total of 10 schools in the rural municipality. 

Rural municipality's Education Section Officer, Khagendra Malla, said the local government has started to regulate the schools running without rules and in violation of set standards. He added that such schools will not be permitted to operate for at least a year. 

The rural municipality has said it is strictly monitoring the schools for upgrading schools' quality, education's management and effectiveness. It has also set up e-attendance machines in the community schools. RSS
