KATHMANDU, May 12: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned to India after concluding his two day state visit in Nepal.

Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali saw him off at the Tribhuvan International Airport.

At Janakpur, Modi stated that his third visit was as a ‘prime pilgrim’ to Nepal and not as a prime minister.  Modi, who started entered Nepal via Janakpur yesterday, visited three prime temples of the country, Janaki Temple, Mukhtinath Temple and Pashupatinath where he offered special homage.

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his Indian counterpart jointly inaugurated the Ramayan Circuit, flagged off a bus connecting Janakpur with Ayodhya and laid foundation stone for Arun III hydropower project. Modi also provided INR 100 crore to develop necessary infrastructures for the Ramayan Circuit.

Apart from meeting various leaders of different political parties, Modi was conferred with the Guard of Honor and felicitated by Janakpur sub metropolitan city and the Kathmandu metropolitan city in two seperate functions.

In a tweet, Modi said "My Nepal visit was historic. It gave me a great opportunity to connect with the wonderful people of Nepal. Talks with PM Oli were productive. New vigour has been added to India-Nepal relations through this visit. Gratitude to the people and Government of Nepal for their warmth."
