RASUWA, April 30: As part of 'one home, one tap' campaign, water taps have been constructed in all houses of Syafru of Gosainkunda Rural Municipality, which was once the district headquarters of Rasuwa.

With this, it is expected that there won't be any kind of problem-related to water in Syafru which is the main entry point for tourists visiting Langtang, Buddhism Thuman and Rasuwagadhi. This project has benefited a total of 114 households of Syafru. Two reservoirs have been constructed for preserving water. One of the reservoirs is 75 cubic meters while another is 22 cubic meters, according to Padakhola Drinking Water Consumers Committee.

The reservoir gets refilled by a 2800-meter long pipe connected to Pada River. An additional 1800 meters of the pipeline has been used to connect the reservoir with the houses.

According to Chairperson of the Committee Nima Sangwo Lama, water has been made accessible in all houses. "From now onward, there won't be any public taps in the village," said Lama. This project was possible with a total investment of Rs 3.5 million.

Last fiscal year, various government and non-governmental organizations had started the campaign. The 'one home, one tap' campaign has been coordinated by UNDP and SWAS Nepal. Various other government and non-governmental organizations have provided financial assistance to the project.
