DHADING, April 27: Police arrested 55 years old Yam Bahadur Arghu of Jwalamukhi Rural Municipality-3, Dhading, on Thursday. He had been at large after allegedly murdering a person of the same rural municipality 14 years ago.

On October 28, 2004, a group of eight people including Arghu had killed Ludra Bahadur Phali Magar of Jwalamukhi-5 with sharp weapons. All of them were on the run since the heinous incident. But police have been successful in nabbing Arghu from Jwalamukhi-5, Bungkotghat on Thursday after a hiatus of 14 years. Magar was killed following a small dispute among the locals during the celebration of Hindus' greatest festival Dashain.

Despite trying their best, police hadn't been able to book the culprits so far. But they are hopeful that it will be easier for them to catch other perpetrators after Arghu's arrest. Dhruba Raj Raut, Police Inspector of District Police Office informed Republica that the search for the other seven has been intensified again. "We have been able to nab one of the accused and we hope that we will be able to find others soon," said Raut.
