4.8 magnitude earthquake jolts Olangchungola

FUNGLIN, Feb 13: A mild earthquake has hit Taplejung district this morning with the epicenter at Olangchungola in Faktanglung Rural Municipality-7 of Taplejung.

According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Centre, the earthquake measuring 4.8 in the Richter scale jolted Taplejung at 4.30 this morning. The tremor was felt in Taplejung and its adjoining districts.

Ward Chairman of Faktanglung-7 in the district Chheten Lama informed that no damage has been reported so far in Olangchungola as a result of the earthquake.

It may be noted that the 5.4 magnitude earthquake had struck the district with its epicenter at Olangchungola a few days ago.
