KATHMANDU, April 5: Two people were killed after they struck by a lightening in different places of Khotang.

It has been reported that the lightning struck Sombar Bahadur Dahal, 65 from Solma Okharbot of Majhauwagadi municipality-2 and Balkumari Khatri, 65 and injuring her husband Prem Bahadur Khatri from Ratanchaka of Sakela Rural Municipality on Thursday.

Khatri’s husband Prem Bahadur Khatri sustained injuries due to lightning. He is under treatment at local hospital, informed Area police.  

Dahal, who was fatally injured in the incident, breathed last on the way to the hospital and Khatri died on the spot, informed locals.

The dead bodies were brought to District Hospital, Diktel for post-mortem, said DSP Lok Darsan Thapa.

The lightning occurred amidst torrential rains.
