KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Magsaysay award winner Mahabir Pun is active in rural areas of the country for 25 years with a roadmap and a dream of a prosperous Nepal.  He argues that the dreams of Nepal becoming a developed country and the ambitious projects shared by former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli are possible.

“All the dream projects floated by the former Prime Minister can come true,” Pun said during an interview with Nagarik Show, “I wonder why people made fun of him?”

Pun, who is on a mission to establish National Innovation Center, complained that the government has always neglected the spirit of people who want to contribute to the country.

He said that the government negligence has triggered a massive brain-drain.

He came down heavily on the erstwhile government for failing to allocate necessary budget for the establishment of the National Innovation Center as promised earlier.

“Seeing a dream is not a big deal; one should work to achieve it,” he said.

He added that no government till date has been serious about developing the science and technology sector.

Talking with Nagarik Show, Pun has shared the likely benefits from the National Innovation Center and explained his mission of recalling Nepali scientists from around the globe back to Nepal.
