We are always on the lookout for the next big thing in the smartphone world to always have access to the best features the digital world has to offer. But there are some tweaks and hacks that let you experience that best feature on the device you have with you right now.

Even if you are a tech-savvy person, you probably don’t know every trick and hack related to smartphones. Here, we have compiled a list of some of the best ones that we guarantee will make your life a little bit easier.

Recycle bin app for your phone
Whenever we delete pictures, videos, documents, apps, or anything else on our phone, it instantly gets deleted. While it is a good thing if you’re running out of space or it was one of those pictures that got saved in your phone because some Tom, Dick, and Harry on that Facebook group wanted to show off his new watch. But, at times, when you accidentally delete a very important document, that same feature can be quite bothersome. Dumpster app comes in handy in such situations. It is simply a recycling app that works exactly like the recycle bin on your computer. You can restore or undelete your files by using this app and the best part is that it’s completely free.

Fast charging
Although some latest smartphones have fast charging feature pre-installed on it, there are still some users for whom, mobile charging is a pain. Also, it doesn’t help that most of us are constantly on our phone and thus battery drains fast. Most of us know that charging a smartphone while it’s switched off speeds up the battery charging process. However, you can keep your device on and still get double charging speeds. Simply keep you phone in airplane mode. It will stop the network access of your device and boost the charging speed.

App management
If you have been using your smartphone for a while you have undoubtedly accumulated a bunch of apps that you think you will use sometime soon but you know you actually never will get around to using them. Do your phone a favor and delete them. You can always reinstall them when you actually want to use them. Also what about all those apps that come installed when you buy your phone but are completely useless for you? Uninstall them too or, in case where that isn’t possible, disable them. They are clogging up unnecessary space on your phone that in turn makes your phone slow down its responses. Also, clear the cache memory regularly. Cache can take up memory space and cause your phone to slow down. Delete them for a simple way of making your processor work a little bit faster. Also do not create too many app shortcuts in your home screen. It might seem harmless but it’s actually not worth all the storage space it costs you.

Use the developer option
Just open up the settings and enable developer options. There you will find an option to turn off animations. If you allow that then your phone will cut out any unnecessary animations that take time while you are using an app. But not everyone is a fan of this particular hack since at times the aforementioned ‘unnecessary’ animation leaves your phone looking like it’s running on decade-old software and shuts off all special effects on your phone. Only do this if you don’t mind using a phone system that doesn’t look and feel updated.

Pin your screen
You hand over your phone to a friend to show them this hilarious meme but they actually start snooping through your phone and even though you want to snatch your phone back and chide them for invading your privacy you simply cannot. A simple screen pinning will prevent anyone from snooping through your phone. Tap security on your settings app and open screen pinning under advanced and enable it. Tap the overview button (the lower left button on your phone – next to the home button) find the tab/app you want to pin and tap the pin button. To unpin your screen, press the back button (the lower right button on your phone – next to the home button) and the overview button at the same time for a few seconds until you get notified that the screen has been unpinned. This simple hack can save you quite a bit of trouble and embarrassment when your phone is in somebody else’s hands.

Overclock your device
Overclocking lets you run your device applications much faster than it is now. The first step to do that is rooting your device that is quite a complicated process. But there are different YouTube tutorials that can teach you how to root your phone. Once you have rooted your phone, just download an app that gives you total control of your CPU. SetCPU, Overclock for Android, and No-Frills CPU Control are some good apps to do that. Then change your CPU settings to overclock your device and you will notice a significant increase in the performance speed of your phone. Be careful though because overclocking also means turning off the failsafe switch. Your device will be more prone to overheating and over consumption of battery. There are pros and cons of overclocking. Only do it when you can live with the cons. But experts say the pros outweigh the cons.
