CPN (MC) agrees on new government under unified party leadership

CPN (Maoist Center) has decided to form the government after the unification with CPN-UML. The meeting of the party held at party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal’s residence Khumaltar on Wednesday afternoon has decided to form the new government as a single rather representing two different parties, according to party leader Dina Nath Sharma. The party has also decided to take the leadership of the party and the government on a rotation basis. The party leaders have also agreed on the name of the unified party as Nepal Communist Party.

UML recommends Oli as PM

The CPN-UML has decided to recommend the name of the party chairperson KP Sharma Oli as the next Prime Minister of the country. The urgent meeting of the standing committee of the party held at Manbhawan on Wednesday afternoon has decided to recommend the name of Oli for the post, according to Deputy General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal.

PM Deuba likely to resign today, cabinet meeting in short while

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is likely to resign from his post on Wednesday evening. According to Minister for Commerce Meen Bahadur Bishwakarma, PM Deuba will tender his resignation after the Election Commission (EC) will submit the official result of House of Representatives under Proportional Representation (PR) electoral system to the President on Wednesday itself.

Bomb planted at Ncell tower defused

A bomb disposal team of the Nepal Army has defused a pressure cooker bomb planted at Ncell tower kept at the roof of Sallaghari-based a garment factory today. The pressure cooker bomb was kept in a sack. The NA bomb disposal team defused the bomb after an effort of two hours. 

Wijeratne hits century as Canada sets 195-run target for Nepal

Nepal has received a 195 –run target from Canada at their final match at the ICC World Cricket League Division Two held at Windhoek in Namibia on Wednesday. Sent in to bat first after losing the toss, Canada made  194 runs in the allotted 50 overs, losing eight wickets.

Prince Henrik, husband of Danish monarch, dies at age 83
