KATHMANDU, Feb 9: Sherdhan Rai, Provincial Assembly leader of CPN-UML defeated Bhim Acharya by two votes to secure his win as Parliamentary Party member from Province 1. Rai obtained 26 votes and his rival candidate Acharya garnered 24 votes. 

Of 93 total PA seats 51 are from UML in Province 1. with this UML is in easy track to build the provincial government in this province and Rai is being a chief Minister. 

Acharya is the party’s secretary and Rai is the politburo member and former Information and Communication Minister.
