KATHMANDU (REPUBLICA): The Millionnaire's Club and Casino situated on the premises of Shangri-La Hotel in Lazimpat has expressed dissatisfaction of deployment of police at the entrance of the casino.

The company, which is being run under foreign investment, said that deployment of cops have terrified gamers interested to visit the casino.

Police have been guarding the entrance of the casino for the past few days. Police personnel, ranging from inspector to head constables, have been deputed at the casino.

"When we questioned the police administration why police have been deployed at the casino, we got a reply that police personnel have been sent by some higher-ranking officials,” Rajendra Bajgain, a Nepali partner of the Australian multinational company, Silver Heritage, told Republica.

With the presence of police personnel in the gate of the casino without any reason, tourists have refrained from entering the casino, according to Bajagain.

Meanwhile, a rift has developed between Nepali partner of Silver Heritage and the company's CEO Mike Bolsover after the latter chose to deploy mostly foreign employees in the casino as well as the group's other property -- Tiger Palace in Bhairahawa.
