RJPN meeting strikes no deal on PP leader

JANAKPURDHAM, Feb 3: A meeting of the Rastriya Janata Party Nepal (RJPN) held in Janakpurdham to elect parliamentary party leader (PP) has concluded inconclusively.

The four-hour-long meeting held at Sitasharan ended without entering into the agenda on the election of PP leader.

As many as 25 leaders including presidium coordinator Mahantha Thakur, members Rajendra Mahato, Mahendra Raya Yadav, Sharat Singh Bhandari, Raj Kishor Yadav and Anil Jha were present in the meeting.

“The meeting held to pick PP leader prior to the first meeting of the Provincial Assembly ended without entering into the agenda,” said presidium member Raj Kishor Yadav.

According to him some provincial lawmakers have been picked for the committees to be formed under the Provincial Assembly.

The meeting will take place on Saturday again  to forge agreement on the election of PP leader.

The party has decided to send Jitendra Sonal to the first meeting of the Provincial Assembly scheduled for Sunday.

Similarly, the meeting also decided to send Manish Suman and Surita Sah to Business Advisory Committee while Ram Naresh Raya, Ramesh Patel and Dimpal Jha to the Committee on  Parliamentary Regulations and Working Procedures

This meeting is viewed as important as the PP leader of the largest pary will become the Chief Minister of the Provincial Assembly.
