Buddha era pond and vihara found at Ramgram Stupa

Remains of an ancient pond and a Buddhist vihara have been found at the Ramgram Stupa in Nawalparasi district. The stupa houses the astadhatu (the relics) of Lord Gautam Buddha. The geophysics survey has been carried out at the Ramgram stupa area after a gap of 19 years. 

Gauchan’s shooter arrested

The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police has arrested Shyam Lama ‘Gumbe,’ the mastermind in the killing of Sarad Kumar Gauchan (President of Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal). Lama is also accused for his involvement in the killing of  Durga Tiwari (Chairman of the CPN-UML-aligned Youth Association Nepal's Rupandehi chapter).

'STC, Humla depot has sufficient stock of salt'

The Salt Trading Corporation (STC), Humla has refuted media reports stating the district is under the crisis of salt. STC Humla depot chief, Raj Bahadur Lama said the depot has sufficient stock of salt. The depot has currently the stock of 1,240 quintals of salt. 

Foreign tourists visiting Mustang up by 34 per cent

Number of foreign tourists visiting Mustang district has increased by 34.49 per cent in 2017 as compared to 2016. According to Jomsom-based Area Office of Annapurna Conservation Area Project (ACAP), a total of 52,475 tourists visited Mustang in 2017. 

Alaska earthquake prompts tsunami warning

A magnitude 8.2 earthquake off Alaska’s Kodiak Island prompted a tsunami warning for a large swath of coastal Alaska and Canada’s British Columbia while the remainder of the U.S. West Coast was under a watch.

Manchester United top world football money list

Manchester United have retained their position as the highest revenue-generating soccer club in the world, edging out Spain’s Real Madrid by the narrowest margin ever between the top two. The Premier League club topped the Deloitte Football Money League for the 10th time.
