KATHMANDU, Dec 24: Nepal Students Union organized a march, demanding that President Bidya Devi Bhandari certify the National Assembly ordinance soon.

Reasoning that the ordinance sent by the government to the President two months ago has not been certified yet, the NSU organized the march that converged into a corner meeting upon reach Ratna Park after passing through Padmodaya chowk, Bag Bazaar and Padma kanya college.

Addressing the corner meeting, NSU General Secretary Kundan Raj Kafle said that the President could not withhold the ordinance sent as per the constitution. “The President should make decision in accordance with constitution,” he said.

Similarly, NSU Vice-President Ram Prasad Adhikary said that although there is a provision that the ordinance sent by the government could be returned back within 15 days if it is not satisfactory, it was against the constitution to withhold it until two months.

Likewise, other NSU leaders also warned of launching agitation across the nation from Monday if the ordinance is not certified immediately. Formation of National Assembly has been delayed due to lack of certification of the ordinance sent by the government to the Office of the President. RSS
