69th International Human Rights Day
The International Human Rights Day is observed worldwide on December 10 every year. This year, the 9th Human Rights Magna Meet 2017 is scheduled to take place on December 9, according to a press meet organized at Union House, Anamanagar on Tuesday.
The three-day event would be held on the occasion of 69th International Human Rights Day at the Dillibazar-based Nepal Cultural Association with the theme ‘Equal opportunities for youths and women: Base for prosperity and development’.
At the press meet, event coordinator Lily Thapa said, "This kind of day should be celebrated to enforce and support the cause of human rights. Various discriminatory laws that are against human rights have been eliminated due to these celebrations."
Women's Alliance for Peace, Justice and Democracy along with Sankalpa and Youth Advocacy Nepal will coordinate the Magna Meet.
