Brazil-Nepal parliamentary group formed for boosting relations

KATHMANDU, Nov 30: The parliament of Brazil has constituted a six-member Brazil-Nepal Parliamentary Group for further boosting the relations between Brazil and Nepal. 

The Embassy of Nepal, Brasilia, Brazil stated in a press release on Wednesday that the Group was constituted in the Chamber of Deputies (the Lower House) of the National Congress (Parliament) of Brazil. 

The six-member Executive Committee of the Group unanimously elected by the Chamber of Deputies aims to promote relations and exchanges between the two friendly countries. 

The Group formed for the first time in the history of Nepal-Brazil relations, in accordance with the recently approved Statute to promote inter-parliamentary cooperation with Nepal, aims to maintain permanent link between the Parliaments of the two countries through parliamentary visits as well as seminars and symposiums. 

It also aims to promote relationship with other cultural entities that aim to promote Nepal in Brazil and vice-versa, to promote periodic exchanges of publications and works on legislative matters' to promote exchanges of parliamentary experiences, research and studies on economic, social, political and cultural sectors and suggest concrete measures, according to the press release. 

More, it aims to strengthen cultural, social and linguistic ties. 

The Executive Committee comprises Mr Weliton Prado as president; Mrs Jo Moraes as 1st vice-president; Mrs Gorete Pereira as the 2nd vice-president; Mrs Soraya Santos as 1st secretary; Mr Hildo Rocha as the 2nd secretary; and Mr Felipe Bornier as treaurer. RSS
