KATHMANDU, Nov 23: Nepal have been defeated by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) by five runs in the match played today under the ICC Women Cricket Worldcup T-20 Asia Cup qualifiers underway in Thailand.
Winning the toss, UAE batted first and scored 79 runs at the loss of seven wickets in the alloted 20 overs. Nepal, which were chasing a target of 80 runs made only 74 runs in the allotted 20 overs, losing nine wickets.
Ritu Kanaujiya collected the largest number of runs for Nepal. She made 22 runs including two fours.
The match was held at the cricket ground of the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok. Nepal will play its fourth match against Malaysia on Friday.
