UDAYAPUR, June 4: Four COVID-19 patients who have been undergoing treatment at the Biratnagar-based Koshi Hospital have recovered on Thursday.

According to the Medical Superintendent of the hospital Dr Sangita Mishra, those patients from Bhulke of Udayapur district are being discharged shortly as they tested negative for this virus in two consecutive lab tests through the PCR method in the last 24 hours.

They were admitted to the hospital following the confirmation of COVID-19 infection earlier on April 21.

“They will be sent to their home district and will have to stay in a quarantine facility for the next two weeks,” Dr Mishra said.  Local administration in Udayapur is making necessary arrangements to keep them in a quarantine facility set up at Triyuwa Campus, Motigada.

With this, 31 of the 34 patients from Bhulke which had once turned into a COVID-19 hotspot have recovered so far.  A female and two journalists are yet to gain recovery, according to the hospital. They are also enjoying normal health, said one of the medics involved in their treatment.
