30 more COVID-19-related deaths recorded on Wednesday, highest number of fatalities in a single day so far

KATHMANDU, Nov 4: Nepal on Wednesday reported 30 more COVID-19-related deaths, the highest number of fatalities in a single day so far, taking the coronavirus death toll to 1,034.  

The number of people dying of COVID-19 infection reached 1,004 on Tuesday as 20 more fatalities linked with COVID-19 were recorded.

The country reported the first death on May 16. A 29-year-old female from Sindhupalchowk district had been the first coronavirus victim in Nepal. 

As of today, Nepal recorded 182,923 cases of coronavirus including 36,911 active cases, 144,978 recoveries, 1,034 deaths.

3,309 new cases of coronavirus recorded in past 24 hours

3,309 new cases of coronavirus were detected through 13,144 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests conducted at various labs across the country in the past one day, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Kathmandu Valley alone saw 1,878 new cases of coronavirus. According to Gautam, 1570 new cases in Kathmandu district, 119 new cases in Bhaktapur district and 189 new cases in Lalitpur district.

As many as 3,844 persons who had earlier tested positive for coronavirus have been discharged after recovery in the past one day. With this, the number of coronavirus patients discharged after recovery has soared to 144,978.
