TANAHU, Nov 10: The District Police Office (DPO) Tanahun arrested 30 absconding defendants of different cases in the district on Monday.
The arrested persons were involved in various criminal cases, according to the DPO, Tanahu. They had gone at large for years to evade jail terms as ordered by the court.

The police arrested Anupmani Adhikari, 30, of Myagde Rural Municipality-4 in the district. He had been at large on a case of banking offense. The High Court Patan had slapped him with a three-day jail sentence and Rs 250,000 in fine on March 2, 2020.
Those apprehended include seven absconding convicts of various criminal cases, six of divorce cases, six others involved in manhandling cases, two facing defamation case and one each involved in theft, robbery, forgery, domestic violence, vehicular crime and public offense, according to DSP Yubaraj Timilsena.
The jail sentence to be served by the arrestees totals 48 days and penalty amounts to Rs 337,950.
