Baglung, May 14: As many as three members of a family have died of COVID-19 within a week from Badigad Rural Municipality-4 of Baglung district. According to the locals, the family had attended a wedding ceremony in Jaljala of Badigad-4, two weeks ago.  

According to the district health office, those dying include an 87-year-old father and his two sons aged 51 and 40 respectively from the same family. As stated by COVID-19 focal person of Baglung district health office, Dev Prakash Ghimire, the 87-year-old father and the 40-year-old son died at Dhaulagiri Hospital in Baglung while the 51-year-old breathed his last at Manipal Teaching Hospital in Pokhara. 

In yet another case linked to COVID-19, a 40-year-old male from Badigad, who was transported to Pokhara for treatment on a helicopter a week earlier has also died. With such incidents of COVID-19, panic has gripped Badigad Rural Municipality as the local residents fear of contracting the virus. 

The health section of the rural municipality has requested people to stay indoors for a minimum of 15 days. Also, the District Administration Office of Baglung has imposed a prohibitory order till May 29.
