KATHMANDU, Mar 23: Three people were killed while 16 others sustained injuries as a bus met with an accident at Charghare of Sindhupalchowk district on Friday afternoon.


The deceased have been identified as 60-year-old Khumraj Adhikari, Chandra Bahadur Deuja, 44, of Shikharpur and Tulasha Parajuli, 51 of Bansbari. Sixteen people were injured in the accident out of which the condition of the four is said to be critical.

The bus, Ba 2 Kha 4325, was en-route to Melamchi from Kathmandu when it skidded off the road and fell some 40 meters down the hill.


A rescue operation is underway and the injured passengers are being taken to Primary Health Center, Melamchi for treatment, Area Police Office, Melamchi said.
