Neighbors involved in minor's abduction for ransom

SARLAHI, June 8: After police made public the three people involved in abduction of a minor in Barhathawa of Sarlahi, it has come to light that the child's neighbors themselves were involved in the kidnapping. 

The minor, seven-year-old Rakesh Kumar Yadav of Gadhimai Municipality-1, was abducted ten days ago while he was playing in front of his house. 

The arrested have been identified as Ashok Yadav, 22, Bikki Yadav, 18, of Gadhimai Municipality, Rautahat, and Mohan Sah of Dewahiguna Municipality-3.  Ashok and Bikki are the neighbors of the abducted child. The child was rescued from Ghodasan-based railway station of India with the help of Indian police nine days after he fell into the clutches of the criminals.

The minor, who is the son of cattle trader Ram Pukar Yadav of Gadhimai Municipality-1, was rescued safely and police have handed over the child to the family on Wednesday afternoon. 

No harm has been done to the child as he seems to be in good condition, said Police Inspector Lalan Kumar Kurmi of Area Police Office, Barhathawa.

Police investigation has shown that Surendra Yadav alias Barud Singh of Laxmipur, Rautahat was the main kingpin behind the kidnapping. Ransom was the main intension behind the abduction. The kidnappers had demanded Rs 5 million in ransom from the victim's family.
