According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Om Bahadur Rana, Arjun Sen of Khungri VDC was arrested from Satdobato of Rolpa, and Deepak Pun and Champhe BK were caught while they were heading towards Dang. [break]
Sen was behind bars for smuggling rhino horn and Pun and BK for involvement in other criminal activities.
“One was arrested immediately after the start of our investigations and the other two were caught while fleeing through jungle trails to Dang,” said Rana.
Dang Chief District Officer (CDO) Yadav Subedi informed that they have deployed police patrols in the forests and villages. “Teams of police have advanced towards nearby villages and forests where the inmates still at large are most probably hiding,” said Subedi.
“More than 150 policemen have been put on alert and they are on duty day and night,” Subedi said.
Meanwhile, an assistant sub-inspector, a constable and 10 other security personnel have been suspended over the jail break.
