3 die in road accidents

POKHARA, July 20: Three persons were killed in three separate accidents along Prithivi Highway in Tanahun district. The accidents occurred within a distance of 15 kilometer leaving 34 passengers injured.

One woman and two men were killed when a van (Ga 2 Cha 2307) carrying vegetables from Pokhara collided with a taxi (Ga 1 Ja 4325), according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Surendra Bahadur Gurung of District Police Office, Tanahun. 

“The taxi driver, 41-year-old Deu Bahadur Thapa died on the spot whereas the passenger Man Bahadur Thapa, 53, died on the way to hospital,” he added. 

In another accident, a truck (Na 5 Kha 7984), which was headed to Damauli from Muglin, collided with a bus (Dha 1 Kha 495) in Ghansikuwa.

In the accident, Deepak Nahakri, 27, was killed and 22 passengers were injured. Injured people were taken to Ratan Hari Hospital for treatment. 

In yet another accident, 12 people were injured when a bus (Na 4 Kha 6447) veered off the road at Gunadi. The bus was moving at a high speed and the driver lost control, according to the police. The injured people are receiving treatment at Damauli Hospital.
