RAJBIRAJ, Oct 18: The entire country is in festive mood of Tihar. Preparation for the celebration of the 'festival of lights' is in full swing. However, the family of Rameshwar Yadav of Bishnupur Rural Municipality in Saptari is in despair. Yadav's 11 year-old-son Mahesh has gone missing since the last 22 days.

“We have not even a faint idea about his whereabouts. It's been 22 days. We can't say whether it is an abduction as no one has called us for ransom,” said Yadav. “We complained to the police but they are not serious,” he lamented.

According to the father, who is a peon at the office of the Department of Roads in Rajbiraj, his boy Mahesh went missing from the district headquarters on September 27.

Yadav's family lives in village but his two sons were living with him at a small residence on the office premises.  “My two boys Sachin and Mahesh were living here with me for education in this room provided by my office,” he said.

The missing boy is a fifth grader at World Vision School based in Rajbiraj. On that fateful day of September 27, he told his brother at 9 am that he was going out to play games. It was the last time he was seen. “We have been searching for him rigorously but to no avail,” Yadav said.

Yadav has suspected a local called Rahul Yadav of being involved in the case. He has reported this to the police. “There was a dispute with him. I think that he did something to my boy,” Yadav said.

According to Mukesh Kumar Singh, chief of Saptari Police, investigation over the matter is going on. Police have interrogated some people on the basis of the information provided by the family.
