KATHMANDU, Aug 23:  At least 29 passengers have been rescued in the bus accident that occurred in Aaina Pahara, Tanahun district.


According to the District Police Office, Tanahu, 29 passengers injured in the accident have been sent to hospital for treatment.

Information Officer at the District Police Office, Tanahu, Mohan Bahadur Khan said 29 people were sent to the hospital so far. The condition of those rescued passengers has not been disclosed yet.  


A team of 45 APF personnel led by Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP)  Madhav Paudel from the Armed Police Force, Nepal Disaster Management Training School is continuing the rescue operation.


Nepal Army and Nepal Police personnel have also reached the incident site to expedite the search and rescue process.


Efforts are underway to reach the riverbank using ropes to rescue the injured and recover the deceased due to difficult terrain in the accident site.
