By No Author
KAPILVASTU, April 12: Chairman of the Constituent Assembly (CA) Subas Nembang has warned that authoritarianism might rise in Nepal if the aspiration of the Nepali people to write a constitution through the CA since 60 years fails to materialize this time also.

Speaking in the press meet organized by Press Chautari Nepal, Kapilbastu branch Tuesday, he said the constitution should be formulated unanimously if possible and if not even on the basis of two-thirds majority of the CA.[break]

He said the disputes seen in course of constitution writing have already been resolved and that there was no alternative to the parties coming together for resolving the remaining disputes.

Pointing out that only extending the term of the Constituent Assembly without carrying out any works on constitution writing will not go down well with the people, the CA chairman expressed the belief that the new constitution would be formulated within May 28.

Chairman Nembang expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order, stating he has drawn the Prime Minister´s attention towards this topic.
