Transporters halt traffic in Chitwan

CHITWAN, March. 7: Micro bus entrepreneurs halted traffic in Chitwan Monday to protest the manhandling of a bus driver.



They obstructed Narayangadh-Meghauli Golaghat road section after local youths beat up bus drivers Bishal Lama and Manoj Lama over a dispute on bus fare.[break]



According to the District Police Office, Chitwan, the vehicular strike affected passengers. Local people vandalised a bus (Na 3 Kha 9996) in Meghauli, Golaghat, for defying the strike.



The entrepreneurs obstructed traffic demanding compensation for the vandalism and apology from the vandals.



Meanwhile, relatives of Jhasla Darai organised a dharna at Chitwan Administration today demanding compensation to his family. Darai died on March 3 when a fire caught NCC Bank´s Narayangadh branch.
