NAWALPARASI, Dec 10: Nawalparasi District Development Committee (NDDC) has taken control over 27 tippers for illegally collecting aggregates on Saturday.
A team comprising of Local Development Officer monitored different rivers after receiving complaints from locals of illegal collection of aggregates.
LDO Jeevlal Bhusal said, ‘‘NDDC has allowed extraction of aggregates in only one river west of Daunne. We have started monitoring after receiving complaints of collecting aggregates illegally from Kerunge River, Kawasoti, east of Daunne.’’
The team has taken control over 27 tippers, three excavators and two tractors only from the river.
All the tippers are kept at Area Police Office, Kawasoti. Bhusal informed that Samriddhi Construction Service was given a license for extracting aggregates three years ago.
People involved in collecting aggregates claimed that they were selling aggregates that were extracted earlier.
