KATHMANDU, Aug 16: Visiting Nepali national football team registered 2-1 win over Kwansei Gaikun University in its second match in Japan on Wednesday.
In the match played at Koube Uviv, Bimal Gharti Magar and Suman Lama netted one goal each for Nepal. Striker Magar kept Nepal on the driving seat by scoring an opener in the 12th minute. But the Japanese University team leveled the score in the 25th minute. Striker Lama, scoring in the injury time of the second half, saw Nepal sealing a 2-1 win over the Japanese team.
A 30-member Nepali team is currently on a week-long tour to Japan at the invitation of Japanese Foreign Ministry and Japan Football Association (JFA).
Nepal will now take on Amitie Sports Club on Thursday.
Earlier, Nepal had played 1-1 draw against U-23 team of Japanese first division club Gamba Osaka on Sunday.
The tour is considered as the Nepali team’s preparations for upcoming AFC Asian Cup 2019 Qualifiers match against Tajikistan.
Nepal, which has one point from two matches in group D of the qualifiers, will compete against Tajikistan in home ground on September 5.
The Nepali team will play against Hanan University on August 18, and against U-18 team of Japanese first tier club Vissel Kobe on August 19 before wrapping up the tour.
