PM Deuba insists on practical education

KATHMANDU, August 16: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has insisted on the need for developing the curriculum for higher education in a way that ensures creation of employment opportunities and increase of production by minimizing the risk of natural disasters. 

Addressing the 18th AGM of Pokhara University here today, the PM said only the focus on and promotion to scientific, practical and employment-oriented education would help universities meet the set goals. 

The Prime Minister who is also the University Chancellor, recalled the moment he inaugurated the University central administrative and academic buildings on the 20th January, 2002 in respective of his capacity as the Chancellor, however, expressed happiness over the University's achievements so far. 

Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister, Gopalman Shrestha pledged the lending of all required assistance for further development of the University where around thirty thousand students are currently pursuing the higher education. RSS
