NAWARPALASI, August 13: One-way traffic has resumed along the Daunne stretch of the Butwal-Narayanghat road section. Vehicular movement along the stretch had come to a halt for the last three days due to landslides.

According to Tek Badur Rawat, Chief of Area Police Office, Bardaghat, vehicles from Dumkibas are coming to Bardaghat though no vehicles are moving from Bardaghat to Dumkibas.

There have been dozens of landslides in various hills of Daunne where a 35-meter-long road section has caved in. Hundreds of passengers and vehicles have been left stranded on both sides of the road since Friday.

It has been difficult for the locals and authorities to clear the landslides debris due to the continuous landslides, informed Police Chief Rawat.

With the aim to resume traffic, construction of a diversion road had begun. However, the construction remains halted due to torrential rainfall since Friday.
