KATHMANDU, August 12: The brightest ever meteor shower in human history will be seen on Saturday night. The meteor shower will be visible from 8:45 pm August 12 until 4:45 am tomorrow.

According to Nepal Astronomical Society (NASO), the meteor shower will be visible due to a Comet called Swift Tuttle that leaves dusts and rocks in the course of traveling round the sun on its orbit.  It revolves round the Sun in 133 years.

NASO said around 100 meteor showers can be visible per hour and travel at the speed of 60\70 km per hour. Perseid galaxy is the source of such meteor shower, said NASO.

The next such shower will be seen only after 96 years.

Swift Tuttle is a Comet discovered by astronomer duo Lewis Swift (1820- 1913) and Horace Tuttle (1838-1933) in July 1862.
