BIRATNAGAR, August 12: The normal life has crippled in eastern region of the country due to the incessant rain since Friday evening.
Thirteen people have their lives whereas scores are missing due to the heavy downpour that still continues in the area.
Hundreds of locals are compelled to leave their homes as the flood in the local rivers enters in the human settlement. DIG Ramesh Bhattarai of Eastern Region Police said to Republica that the nonstop rain has hampered the rescue activities.
The regular supply of electricity, telephone and other essential services has been halted due to the rain. Delay in the rescue and relief activities has created chaos among the victims. Essential helpline numbers have been provided through the social media. However, the continuous rain has troubled the rescue team to involve in rescue task and to stop further damage.
Newly elected representatives are urging government to boost up rescue operation through the social media.
