KATHMANDU, Mar 31: The government has appointed 25 members to the National Development Council. As per the Council of Ministers March 25 decision, local level representatives, industrialists and NGO representatives have been appointed to the Council.
According to the National Planning Commission, those appointed as members of the Council include mayor of Kathmandu Bidya Sundar Shakya, mayor of Bharatpur Renu Dahal, mayor of Biratnagar Bhim Parajuli, mayor of Birgunj Bijaya Sarawagi, deputy mayor of Janapur Rita Kumari Mishra, mayor of Butwal Shivaraj Subedi, mayor of Birendranagar Mohan Maya Bhandari, deputy mayor of Dhangadi Sushila Mishra Bhatta, vice-chair of Aathrai rural municipality Rupadevi Kandangwa and mayor of Damak Geeta Adhikari.

Likewise, the deputy mayor of Pokhariya Salma Khatoon, mayor of Putalibazaar Seema Kumari Chettri, deputy mayor of Shiva Raj municipality Shiva Kumar Chaudhary, chief of Kumakha rural municipality Dilmaya Budhamagar, mayor of Puchaudi municipality Rana Bahadur Kunwar, chief of Mustang DCC Tshering Lyamho Gurung, President of DCC Federation Geeta Sundas, President of Municipality Association of Nepal Ashok Byanju and President of National Association of Rural Municipalities Hom Narayan Shrestha have been appointed members of the Council.
Also appointed as members of the Council are President of National Cooperatives Federation Keshav Badal, President of Federation of Nepali Chambers of Commerce and Industry Bhawani Rana, President of Confederation of Nepalese Industries Hari Bhakta Sharma, President of Chamber of Commerce Rajesh Kaji Shrestha, President of Joint Trade Union Committee Binod Shrestha and NGO Federation Chair Jitram Lama. The members have been appointed considering the meeting of the Council summoned for coming April 3 and 4, according to the Commission. RSS
