KATHMANDU, July 5: Rastriya Janata Party Nepal is all set to register the party at the Election Commission today.

"We had not registered the unified party at the Election Commission after the unification of six parties to form RJPN. We are going to the Election Commission today to formally register the unified party," said Keshav Jha, a general secretary of the unified party.

Jha claimed that the party registration is a part of regular process and the party is still firm on its stance that the constitution should be amended prior to the local level elections in Province 2.

Another general secretary of the party, Manish Suman, also argued that the party is going to the EC to formally inform the constitutional body about the unification of the six parties.

"It should not be understood as if we are preparing for elections without constitution amendment. Party's registration at the EC is a regular process but we'll participate in the elections only if our demands are addressed through constitution amendment," claimed Suman.

The RJPN had boycotted the first and the second phase of local elections demanding constitution amendment first though its cadres in various districts had participated in the election as independent candidates.
