Doctors protest in support of Dr KC

KATHAMNDU, July 19: Demonstrations have continued in support of Dr Govinda KC, a senior orthopedic surgeon at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, who is on a fast-unto-death since 10 days with various demands.

One of the demands of Dr KC includes impeachment of Chief Commissioner at the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), Lokman Singh Karki.

As the government has not heeded the demands, doctors at TUTH have started protest outside the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar from Tuesday.

Police intervened and arrested 12 protesters after they cross the restricted zone. They are kept at Metropolitan Police Station, Kamal Pokhari.
