23 metric tons garbage collected from the valley

KATHMANDU, July 30: The area of the Balkhu Vegetable and Fruits Market in Balkhu has been cleaned today as part of the Bagmati Clean-Up Campaign that entered 168th week today.

As much as 16 metric tons of garbage have been collected.

The campaign witnessed the participation of people from various walks of life including state minister for the Federal Affairs and Local Development Kunti Kumari Shahi, member of the National Planning Commission Dr Sumitra Amayta, former Secretary and leader of the campaign Leela Mani Poudyal and former secretaries Jaya Mukunda Khanal and Suresh Prakash Acharya.

Likewise, those associated with the Bagmati Committee, Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Lalitpur Sub Metropolitan City, Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force and various organizations also participated.

Speaking at the event, State minister Shahi pledged to support the campaign.

Likewise, Kuleshwor Mahadevsthan area has been tidied up as part of the Bishnumati Clean-Up Campaign that entered 103rd week today. Five metric tons trash were collected.

Similarly, two tons garbage have been collected from cleaning two kilometers of Battisputali as part of the Rudramati Clean-Up Campaign reaching 127th week today. RSS
