CPN-UML clinches victory in Atharai Rural Municipality

TEHRATHUM, July 1: CPN-UML has defeated its arch rival Nepali Congress in the local level elections in Atharai Rural Municipality with the difference of 103 votes.

UML candidate Man Bahadur Limbu has been elected as the chief of the rural municipality with 3,847 votes. His closest rival of Nepali Congress Narayan Ingnam (in alliance with Maoist Center) got 3,744 votes.

Similarly, Rupa Kandangwa of CPN-UML has been elected as the deputy chief of the rural municipality with 3, 933 votes. Her closest rival of CPN (Maoist Center) (in alliance with NC) Ramila Khanal got 2, 821 votes. 

A total of 8, 595 out of 12, 567 votes were cast in the local level elections held on June 28.
